Entry Conditions
- 10 Team Nominations Only – So saddle up fast!
- Nominations close 5pm Thursday 2 October 2025
- Teams can be solo stars or dynamic duos (max. 2 people per team)
- You’ll be assigned a mystery number on competition day – this is your dish’s secret identity for the judges. Judges will blind taste and score out of 10. Highest score wins the title of Camp Oven Legend!
- Only Competitors are allowed in the Cook-Off Zone
- All competitors must wear closed in shoes.
- Equipment Required: 1 x Camp Oven; 1 x Table; and all your ingredients
- Damper – Traditional Damper must be served
- Mains – Cook for your friends and family with only a small portion supplied for judging. Protein must be beef brisket.
Cooking Rules
All dishes must be cooked using a traditional camp oven over fire or hot coals. NO BBQ’s, Microwaves, or precooked shortcuts – this is a true country showdown.
Each team must bring their own camp oven – only one camp oven can be used. No double-ups, no fancy gadgets.
Stick to your assigned fire pit – no wandering like a lost cowboy.
Schedule (Don’t Miss Your Cue!)
8:30am Teams must be at their fire pit, ready to roll
8:45am Damper cooking begins
10:00am Damper Judging
10.30am Mains can begin (Beef Brisket is the protein you must use)
2:30pm Mains judging
3:00pm Winners announced
Serving & Judging
You’ll be given a plate with your team number on the bottom. Judges won’t know who cooked what – so let your flavors do the talking. Be ready to serve on time for each category.
Clean-Up & Conduct
Clean up your cooking area like a true country pro. Take your rubbish with you – leaving nothing but good vibes behind.
Most importantly: Cook Safe, play fair, and have a boot-scootin’ good time!
No Cheating, No Fussing – just flames, fun and food.
